BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In the first of two weekend doubleheaders against Felician, the University of Bridgeport's baseball team dropped a pair of games to the Golden Falcons on Saturday.
GAME ONE – Felician 7, Bridgeport 0
The Purple Knights were only able to muster three singles in the opener. Vin Mallon, Liam O'Neal and Anthony Armenia all recorded hits for UB in three separate innings.
Junior Brendan Palmer pitched well in a losing effort. The right-hander allowed just two earned runs in five innings of work. He finished with four strikeouts.
GAME TWO – Felician 12, Bridgeport 4 (Seven Innings)
UB's bats came alive with eight hits in the finale that came from eight different players.
Mallon supplied half of Bridgeport's runs courtesy of a two-run triple in the seventh. O'Neal and Raymond Plumey also knocked RBI singles in the seventh frame.
Mallon now has a team-high three triples this season to go along with a team-best .562 slugging percentage.
