FLORENCE, S.C. – Playing their first true road game of the 2025 season, the University of Bridgeport's baseball team (2-7) dropped an 8-1 decision at Francis Marion on Tuesday night.
UB's offense mustered just three singles against a Patriots team that was receiving votes in this week's ACBA Top 30 poll.
Jeremy Rodrigues notched two of those hits as he improved his team-best batting average to .387 this season.
Rodrigues knocked in UB's lone run of the game in the fifth inning. Anthony Armenia scored on the play after leading off the frame with a single.
On the pitching side of things, Zach Ridgeway served most effective with a pair of scoreless innings out of the bullpen.
