MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – On Day Two of their weekend trip to the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, the University of Bridgeport's baseball team suffered a 5-0 loss to Bentley University on Saturday. The non-conference defeat puts the Purple Knights' record at 0-3 this season.
Brendan Palmer got the start for UB and pitched well despite the outcome. The right-hander allowed just three earned runs across six innings of work. He ended his outing with six strikeouts.
Offensively, Jeremy Rodrigues continued his hot start to the year with two more singles. He is now 4-for-9 (.444) in UB's three contests this weekend.
Vin Mallon provided UB's other hit in the game courtesy of a base knock in the first inning. The Purple Knights loaded the bases with one out in the first frame but were unable to plate any runs.
