MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Seeing their first action of the 2025 season, the University of Bridgeport's baseball team dropped a pair of contests to 22nd-ranked Molloy on Friday at the Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, S.C. The Purple Knights were defeated by scores of 9-2 and 8-0.
Vin Mallon provided UB's largest bright spot with a two-run home run in the sixth inning of the first game. The senior outfielder now has five career long balls.
Patrick Krempasky scored on the Mallon home run after knocking a lead-off double. Krempasky is coming off a rookie campaign in which he hit .305 and led the team in hits (43).
Other highlights for the Purple Knights included a pair of singles from both Jaden Echevarria in the opener and Jeremy Rodrigues in the finale.
On the pitching side of things, Jonathan Siwiecki saw success in the opener. The California native allowed just one earned run and just three hits across four innings of work.
