Baseball Picked to Finish Fifth in CACC's North Division
Purple Knights will begin the 2025 campaign on Feb. 21 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – With the countdown to the new season down to just 24 days, the University of Bridgeport's baseball team has been picked to finish fifth in the CACC's North Division according to the preseason coaches poll released on Tuesday.
The Purple Knights, who placed fourth on their side of the CACC last season, will begin the 2025 campaign on Feb. 21 in Myrtle Beach, S.C. UB will play 14 games down south, marking the fourth straight year they have opened the year in South Carolina.
Head Coach Joe Tonelli returns for his 13th season at the helm of UB's baseball program. Last year, he notched win No. 200 at Bridgeport as he continues his reign as the winningest coach in school history.
Tonelli's 2025 roster features 31 players back from last year and 24 total upperclassmen. The Purple Knights' newcomers are comprised of 10 freshmen and a pair of transfers.
Bridgeport will make its home debut on March 16 with a doubleheader against Caldwell.
