PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – Playing a second consecutive NE10 school, the University of Bridgeport's baseball team was defeated at Pace on Thursday by a score of 8-5.
The Purple Knights' offense featured four different scoring innings and nine total hits. They also initiated four walks while leaving a total of seven runners on base.
Anthony Pascale was involved in the majority of UB's attack. He scored the game's first run after hitting a lead-off double in the second. He then doubled in two more runs in the sixth.
Pascale's two doubles in the game gives him eight for the year which is just one shy of the team lead (Patrick Krempasky).
Jacob Rich also hammered a double before scoring on Pascale's two-bagger in the sixth. He finished the game 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored.
Liam O'Neal served as Bridgeport's third multi-hit performer. He went 2-for-4 with a run scored.
The Purple Knights used a total of nine pitchers in the contest.
