GAFFNEY, S.C. – In a game shortened by rain, the University of Bridgeport's baseball team dropped an 11-7 decision to Limestone in six innings on Wednesday.
The Purple Knights were unable to hold onto a 3-0 lead as the Saints rattled off 11 runs across the final four innings to secure the win.
Senior Jake Woods led the UB offense with two hits and two RBIs in the contest. He singled in Bridgeport's third run in the first inning.
As a team, the Purple Knights totaled seven hits with five players recording one hit apiece. Christian Ortiz tallied an RBI single in the sixth.
Freshman Patrick Krempasky knocked a double in the contest and is now batting .348 this season in 23 at-bats.
