Flushing, N.Y.-After taking the opening game of their three-game East Coast Conference series with the Queens (N.Y.) college Knights on Friday in Bridgeport on Andrew Francella's no-hitter, the UB baseball was swept on the road by the host Knights on Saturday, losing game one, 15-2, and falling in game two, 13-1. With the two losses, the Purple Knights are now 16-23 overall and 6-9 in the ECC. Queens ups its season overall mark to 21-11, and they are now 13-2 in conference play.
In the opener, Conall Roberts (Grad., Mt. Laurel, N.J.) had two hits, and Alex Rauso (Grad., Trumbull, Conn.) and sophomore Anthony Pascale (Stony Brook, N.Y.) each had an RBI.
In the nightcap, Roberts added to more hits, and senior Craig Leonard (Holtsville, N.Y.) had the Purple Knights' lone run batted in.
Up next, the Bridgeport baseball team is scheduled to host Southern New Hampshire University in a non-conference doubleheader on Tuesday beginning at 12 noon.
