Daytona Beach, Fla.-The University of Bridgeport baseball team fell in both ends of a doubleheader at Embry-Riddle University on Friday afternoon, as the host Eagles took game one, 4-0, and completed the sweep with a 4-2 victory in the nightcap. UB is now 3-5 on the young season, and the host Eagles move to 5-11 overall.
In the opener, the Purple Knights were limited to only five hits, two coming from sophomore Justin Leigh (Bridgeport, Conn.), and in game two, freshman Jeremy Rodrigues (Monroe, Conn.) went 2-for-3 at the plate and knocked in both UB runs.
Up next, the UB baseball team will close out its Spring Trip to Florida and look to salvage the final game of the series at Embry-Riddle, when the Purple Knights and the Eagles clash in a single, nine-inning game at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
