Dowling came right back to score three runs in the bottom of the sixth to make the score 4-1 which proved to be the final score.
On the day, UB had nine hits to Dowling's eight. Negron and classmate Tyler Theiss (Deer Park, N.Y.) each had two hits to lead the Bridgeport attack.
Freshman PJ Martino (Medford, N.Y.) started and pitched well on the day but took the loss to give him an 0-2 record so far in 2015. PJ worked six innings in which he allowed four runs (only two earned), on seven hits while striking out three and walking only one.
Up next, the Bridgeport baseball team is scheduled to travel to Southern New Hampshire University on Thursday afternoon for a non-conference contest.
