Bio

Amanda Webster has served as UB’s Head Athletic Trainer since July 2023. She oversees healthcare for UB’s 300 student-athletes as well as manages the sports medicine team and provides care for six athletic teams: volleyball, women’s soccer, men’s basketball, gymnastics, baseball and women’s lacrosse, while also serving as a clinical preceptor.

Prior to UB, Webster was the Associate Athletic Trainer at Post University where she served the Football, Women’s Ice Hockey and both men’s and women’s tennis teams. Her previous experience also includes being the Head Athletic Trainer for Fisk University, Head Athletic Trainer at Lehman College, Head Athletic Trainer at Sacred Heart University Club Sports Program, Upper Merion Area School District, US soccer, USA Triathlon, USA Cycling, USA Gymnastics, the Danbury Whalers, USA Fencing, American College Cricket, and the Steadman Hawkins Clinic.

Webster is a 2008 graduate of Southern Connecticut State University’s Athletic Training program where she was a Student-Athletic Trainer for the 2007 National Champion women’s basketball team. Her professional service opportunities include being a member of the BOC practice analysis pilot study. In 2009, she was awarded a grant by the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s for expanding public knowledge and awareness of Traumatic Brain Injuries. Her undergraduate research on Hypermobility Syndromes in Division II Collegiate Female Gymnasts was presented at the Connecticut Athletic Trainers Symposium.

As a former Level 10 gymnast and 2-year member of SCSU’s Track and Field team, Amanda’s personal experience with sports-related injuries led to her career in sports medicine. She is currently working towards her MBA in Healthcare Systems Leadership. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering for the special Olympics and local animal rescues as well as traveling with her husband, Ben.
