Bridgeport Produces 122 D2 ADA Academic Achievement Award Winners for 2024-25
Finished tied with Jefferson for most honorees in the CACC (≥ sophomore, ≥ 3.5 cum. GPA).
BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – With the countdown to a new fall semester at just 25 days, UB's Athletic Department continues to garner accolades from 2024-25 as 122 student-athletes were announced to have earned D2 Athletics Directors Association (D2ADA) Academic Achievement Awards on Thursday.
The Purple Knights' total number of honorees, which is up 31 from last year, finished tied with Jefferson for the most in the CACC. Bridgeport had student-athletes listed from all 16 of its varsity teams, including a department-best 19 represented by the women's soccer squad.
To qualify for the D2 ADA academic awards, a student-athlete must have had a cumulative grade-point average of 3.5 or higher, have attended a minimum of two years (four semesters) of college level work, and have been an active member of an intercollegiate team during his/her last academic year.
In total, there were 22,756 student-athletes from a record 202 institutions honored with 2024-25 Academic Achievement Awards. This year's number is the highest in the program's history. In total, 190,302 student-athletes have been recognized since the inception of the awards program.
