Nellis and Lingley Named UB's Final Purple Knights of the Week for 2024-25 (April 28-May 4)

Bridgeport, Conn. – After wrapping up their seasons with outstanding performances at the 2025 CACC Championships, Anna-Mae Nellis and Dante Lingley of the University of Bridgeport's track and field teams have been named UB's final Purple Knights of the Week for the 2024-25 school year.

Nellis served as Bridgeport's top-scorer over the two-day event held at Georgian Court University. The graduate student placed seventh in the hammer throw with a mark of 36.01 while also finishing fourth in the javelin (35.55m). Nellis followed that up with a fourth-place score in the shot put on Saturday with a tally of 11.67m.

Lingley also put together an excellent effort in his first CACC championship meet. The graduate student darted to a significant PR (10.78) in the 100-meter en route to a third-place finish. He improved the school record that he already possesses in that event. Lingley also managed a 10th-place time in the 200-meter (23.91) and helped UB's 4x100 relay finish fifth.
