Sepulveda and Vandelli Selected as UB's Purple Knights of the Week (Jan. 13-19)

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – Following terrific efforts last week, junior Lola Sepulveda of the University of Bridgeport's gymnastics team and Edoardo Vandelli of the track and field squad have been selected as UB's Purple Knights of the Week, for the week ending Jan. 19, 2025.

Sepulveda was sensational during UB's quad meet win at Southern Connecticut State on Saturday. Competing against the likes of SCSU, Brown and Springfield, Sepulveda finished first in both vault (9.825) and floor (9.825) while also posting top-11 marks on bars (9.575) and beam (9.750). Sepulveda is coming off a sophomore campaign in which she took home first-team regular-season All-America honors from the WCGA.

Vandelli was equally terrific for the Purple and White at last Friday's NYC Gotham Cup. The freshman finished second in the 800-meter by just 0.05 seconds to a runner from Division I Fairleigh Dickinson. The Italian clocked a time of 1:56.77 which was more than two seconds quicker than any other Division II competitor.
