Hester and Cisse Named UB Purple Knights of the Week (Nov. 4-10)

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – In honor of standout performances on the hardwood last week, Aliou Cisse and Shakira Hester of the University of Bridgeport's basketball teams have been named UB's Purple Knights of the Week, for the week ending Nov. 10.

Cisse helped the Purple Knights to a pair of wins over the weekend in his first two games at UB. He began the stretch with 15 points and seven rebounds against Mercy before going off for 27 points and eight boards in a triumph over Franklin Pierce. All in all, Cisse scored 43 points in just 47 minutes of work. He also chipped in four steals and two blocks.

Hester also filled the stat sheet for Bridgeport last week. The senior finished with averages of 16.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.0 blocks across two contests. She was especially impressive during UB's season opener, going off for 14 points, 13 rebounds, four steals and four blocks versus STAC.
