Hernandez and Beatrix Tabbed UB's Purple Knights of the Week

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – After sensational efforts on the pitch and the court last week, Paola Hernandez of the University of Bridgeport's volleyball team and Enzo Beatrix of the UB men's soccer squad have been named the Purple Knights of the Week, for the week ending Sept. 15.

Beatrix, the CACC Rookie of the Week, helped Bridgeport to a 1-0-1 stretch last week. He assisted on UB's first goal against AIC on Saturday before also scoring the game-winning tally in the 89^th minute. Beatrix' heroics against the Yellow Jackets followed another solid performance during UB's 0-0 result at New Haven.

Hernandez, the CACC Player of the Week, was sensational in leading UB to a 3-1 stretch last week. She piled up a team-high 71 kills across the 17 sets, hitting .211 in the process. Hernandez finished in double figures in each of the matches, including a career-high 25 kills in a five-set win over Franklin Pierce. Hernandez also finished the week with totals of 41 digs, six blocks and five aces.
