Philadelphia, Pa.-After scoring a hat trick in the University of Bridgeport men's soccer team's 4-0 home win over Caldwell on Wednesday evening, freshman Maximilian Kissel (Wiesbaden, Germany) got the Purple Knights on the board first with his eighth goal of the season on Friday against the host Thomas Jefferson University Rams in the 59th minute off an assist from sophomore Henry Greiner (Munich, Germany), but it was not enough for the visiting Purple Knights, who suffered their first conference loss of the season, as the Rams stormed back to score a pair goals in just of the next 10 minutes of action to top UB, 2-1.
With the loss, Bridgeport now stands at 5-1-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play and 7-3-1 overall. Jefferson is now 4-0-2 in conference action and 5-4-2 overall.
Bridgeport outshot the Rams, 16-12, on the day.
UB goalkeeper Clement Anet (Grad., Cosse le Vivien France) was credited with two saves in the match.
Up next, the UB men's soccer team will look to get right back in the win column on Tuesday night, when the Purple Knights open a two-match homestand at Knights Field against the Bears of Bloomfield College in another conference tilt. Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m.
