Bridgeport, Conn.-A goal from graduate student Wariebi Jituboh (Wylie, Tex.) his first goal of the season, off a goalmouth scramble in the 62nd minute helped the University of Bridgeport men's soccer team post a 1-1 double overtime East Coast Conference tie with the visiting St. Thomas Aquinas College Spartans on Homecoming and Senior Day on Saturday at UB. With the deadlock, the Purple Knights second in a row, UB is now 4-6-4 overall and 4-2-1 in conference play. STAC moves to 8-3-2 overall and 5-1-1 in the ECC.
The Spartans scored the match's first goal just 28 seconds before halftime, but the hosts battled back to earn the important point in the conference standings.
Graduate student, goalkeeper Clement Anet (Cosse le Viven, France) made four saves for the Purple Knights.
STAC outshot UB, 13-12, over the 110 minutes.
