Secaucus, N.J.-The University of Bridgeport men's soccer team stepped out of East Coast Conference play on Wednesday afternoon traveling to Laurel Hill Park in Secaucus, New Jersey to face the host Nyack College Warriors, and the Purple Knights saw their two-match winning streak snapped as Nyack posted a 6-2 victory. Bridgeport is now 3-4-2 overall, and the Warriors up their season mark to 4-6-0.
Nyack scored three goals in the first 12:29 of action and never looked backed.
For the Purple Knights, freshman Jose Uresti (Pharr, Tex.) scored his second goal of 2021 off an assist from senior Hannes Nilsson (Tors, Sweden) in the first half, and sophomore Roberto Echenique (Trumbull, Conn.) netted his first collegiate tally with just over two minutes to play in the contest off an assist from freshman John Louis (Bridgeport, Conn.).
