New Haven, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's soccer team travelled up I-95 on Wednesday evening to face local rival Southern Connecticut State University on Wednesday night, and the visiting Purple Knights came on the short end of a 2-0 decision in non-conference action. UB is now 0-5, and the host Owls even their overall season mark at 2-2.
SCSU scored a goal in each half to post the victory.
UB goalkeeper Fabio Junior (Sr., Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) made three saves during the match.
Noah Varonier made two saves to record the clean sheet for the host Owls.
Southern Connecticut outshout Bridgeport, 12-5 on the night.
Up next, the UB men's soccer team will travel to our nation's capital on Saturday to open East Coast Conference play against the Firebirds of the University of District of Columbia. Kickoff is set for 12 noon.
