Rindge, N.H.-The host Franklin Pierce University Ravens netted three first half goals and never looked back on their way to a 5-2 non-conference men's soccer win over the visiting University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Saturday afternoon. Saturday's action was FPU's 2016 season opener, and UB is now 0-2-0 on the young season.
Both Purple Knights' goals of the afternoon came from junior Femi Coker (Johannesburg, South Africa), who scored at the 67:40 mark on a blast from about 20 yards out and tallied again at 76:36.
Jacob Blixt led the Franklin Pierce offense with a hat trick, scoring two goals in the first half and one in the final 45 minutes.
The UB men's soccer team return to the pitch at home this Thursday evening, September 8, when the Purple Knights host the Chargers of Dominican (N.Y.) College at 7:00 p.m. as part of the 2016 Bridgeport Men's Soccer Classic.
