Kissel Earns All-America Accolades After 2023 Conquest
Bridgeport’s Maximilian Kissel was named to CCA All-America First Team after topping all of Division II goal scorers.
Flushing, N.Y.- University of Bridgeport men's soccer Sophomore Maximilian Kissel (Wiesbaden, Germany) was named to 2023 Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CAA) Men's Soccer All-America First Team. This is the first All-American selection for Bridgeport men's soccer since 2013. The Division II Conference Commissioners Association All-Region Teams are selected by athletic communications professionals from the various NCAA regions of the country.
10 years since the last CCA All-America selection Maximilian Kissel has etched his name in the record books for UB. He joins Clayton Ulmer who was named second Team All-America in 2012 and Third Team in 2013 as well as Markus Naglestad who received Second Team honors in 2010.
Kissel ends the 2023 season as the highest goal scorer in the nation with 23 goals and the highest point getter with 48 total points adding in his two assists. He also tops the table with 1.15 goals per game, one of only two players in the country to average more than a goal per game.
This All-America honor caps a stellar second year at Bridgeport and joins Kissel's 2023 haul of CCA All-East Region First Team, USC All-East Region Second Team, CACC All-Conference First Team and CACC All-Tournament Team.

The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2 CCA) encourages and promotes Division II athletics and high standards of sportsmanship as important elements of higher education. The CCA is a key communications link among the conferences as they discuss views, policies and regulations that impact Division II intercollegiate athletics and works closely with the NCAA as a communications channel to NCAA Division II member colleges and universities.
