New Haven, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's soccer team made the short trip of I-95 on Wednesday night to face local rival, the Southern Connecticut State University Owls, and for the second road match in a row, the Purple Knights came away with a double overtime tie, as UB and SCSU finished in a 0-0 deadlock. Bridgeport is now 0-1-2 on the year, and the Owls are 0-1-1 on the young season.
Graduate student goalkeeper Clement Anet (Coss le Viven, France) earned his first clean sheet in a Purple Knights' uniform on Wednesday evening making six saves. SCSU's Bailey Bassett made five stops for the hosts, plus the Owls were credited with one team save.
On the night, Southern Connecticut held a slight 10-9 advantage in shots, and the two teams each had four corner kicks.
After taking the weekend off, the UB men's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m., when head coach Pete Doneit's squad opens a three-match homestand hosting the Southern New Hampshire University Penmen looking to extend their unbeaten streak to three and earn their first win of 2021.
