Bridgeport, Conn.-The visiting Dowling College Golden Lions scored a pair of first half goals and then held on to post a 2-0 East Coast Conference men's soccer victory over the host University of Bridgeport Purple Knights in the Park city on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. UB is now 7-4-0 overall and 3-2-0 in the ECC. Dowling ups its season record to 3-6-0 overall and is also 3-2-0 in the ECC.
Bridgeport goalkeeper Daniel Coviella (Fr., Ribadesella, Spain) played well making five saves in the loss. Dowling's Chris Friedl made six saves to earn the shutout. The Golden Lions outshot the Purple Knights by a 14-11 margin on the afternoon.
Up next, the Bridgeport men's soccer team will play its final regular season home match of 2015 next Saturday, October 17 when they host NYIT. Senior Day action is slated to begin at 6:00 p.m.
