Bridgeport, Conn.-For the first time this season, the University of Bridgeport has suffered back-to-back losses, as the Purple Knights were defeated at home on Tuesday night, 4-0, by the visiting Wilmington (Del.) University Wildcats in a non-conference contest. UB is now 7-3-0 overall. The Wildcats raise their overall mark to 9-1-0.
Wilmington scored three goals in the first half and added one more in the second stanza to pick up the victory, as the Wildcats outshot UB, 12-7 on the night.
The Purple Knights put five of their seven shots on goal, but Wilmington goalkeeper Frank Hall stopped all of the attempts to notch the clean sheet.
The UB men's soccer team will look to get in the win column on Saturday, when the Purple Knights return to East Coast Conference as they host Dowling College. Action is slated to begin at 3:00 p.m.
