Men's Soccer Falls To NYIT, 2-0
Purple Knights Back In Action At Queens (N.Y.) On Tuesday Afternoon
Bridgeport, Conn. - The University of Bridgeport men's soccer team saw its three-match winning streak come to end on Saturday afternoon as the Purple Knights suffered a 2-0 home East Coast Conference loss against the NYIT Bears. UB is now 7-6-0 overall and 5-3-0 in the ECC. The Bears raise their overall mark 12-3-0, and their conference record to 6-3-0.
After a scoreless first 45 minutes, NYIT scored in the 68th and 79th minutes to pick up the victory.
The Bears outshot the Purple Knights, 14-7, on the day, and Bridgeport goalkeeper Agustin Prados (Jr., Madrid, Spain) made five saves. NYIT's Liam Waddy made on stop to notch the clean sheet.
The Bridgeport men's soccer team will look to get back in the win column on Tuesday afternoon when they travel to Queens (N.Y.) College for a key ECC contest. Game time is set for 3:30 p.m.
