# 1 LIU Post Stops Men's Soccer's Four-Match Winning Streak With 3-0 ECC Win
Purple Knights Now 4-5-0 Overall And 3-2-0 In Conference Play
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport men's soccer team saw its four-match winning streak come to end on Saturday afternoon, as the number one ranked in the nation LIU Post Pioneers came to Knights Field and posted a 3-0 East Coast Conference victory over the host Purple Knights. LIU Post ups its unblemished season record to 12-0-0 overall and 5-0-0 in the ECC. UB is now 4-5-0 overall and 3-2-0 in conference play.
Bridgeport outshot the Pioneers, 6-2, in the first half, but LIU Post netted the only goal of the first 45 minutes when Johann Kristjansson scored with 2:49 to play before halftime. The Purple Knights had perhaps their best scoring opportunity just before halftime when sophomore Luis Fajardo (Danbury, Conn.) hit the crossbar with 39 seconds to go.
In the second half, the Pioneers would score at the 58:20 mark and the 80:18 mark to make the final score 3-0.
UB would finish the day with a 14-12 advantage in shots.
Junior goalkeeper Agustin Prados (Madrid, Spain) made four saves for the Purple Knights, and Marco Jorgensen made two stops to record the clean sheet for LIU Post.
The UB men's soccer team is back in action on Tuesday night at home when they host Southern Connecticut Sate University in a non-conference clash. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
