UB Returns To ECC Play On Saturday For Regular Season Home Finale Versus Mercy
New Haven, Conn.-Mario DiMicelli scored a hat trick and goalkeeper Stephen Sasso made five saves to help lead the Southern Connecticut State University Owls men's soccer team to a 4-0 non-conference home win over the University of Bridgeport on a chilly Tuesday evening in the Elm City. With the win, SCSU is now 6-5-1 overall. UB is now 8-7-0 overall.
The Owls scored two goals in each half on their way to the victory. DiMicelli scored the first goal of the match at the 24:00 of play in the first half.
UB goalkeeper Augustin Prados (Madrid, Spain) made five saves on the night for the Purple Knights.
The Bridgeport men's soccer team is back in action on Saturday (October 20th) at 6:00 p.m. when the Purple Knights host Mercy College in an important East Coast Conference match. Saturday is also UB's home finale, and the seniors on this year's squad will be recognized prior to the contest.
