Men's Soccer Falls To Nyack, 1-0, In Non-Conference Action
UB Now 7-6-0 Overall In 2012
Bridgeport, Conn.-Nyack's Nicolo Baudo scored the only goal of the match off a scramble from a corner kick at the 28:48 mark of play to give the visiting Warriors a 1-0 non-conference win over the host University of Bridgeport Purple Knights on Wednesday evening. With the win, Nyack is now 6-5-1 overall. UB is now 7-6-0 overall.
The contest was a fairly even game as Nyack took nine shots to the Purple Knights' eight. Bridgeport took seven corners on the night to six by the Warriors.
Nyack goalkeeper Jodel Wright made one save to record the shutout.
Junior Lee Fenner (Altamont, N.Y.) made two saves in his first appearance of 2012 between the pipes for UB.
Sophomore Danny Ruiz (Stamford, Conn.) led Bridgeport with three shot attempts on the night.
The Purple Knights will look to snap a two-game losing streak when they return to action at home on Sunday afternoon when they host East Coast Conference newcomer, Roberts Wesleyan College. Game time at Knights Field is set for 12 noon on October 14.
