Clayton Ulmer Selected As 2011 ECC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year
A Total Of Four Purple Knights Earn Men's Soccer All-Conference Honors
Central Islip, N.Y.-University of Bridgeport sophomore defender Clayton Ulmer (Hamden, Conn./Hamden HS) has been selected as the 2011 East Coast Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year in a vote of league coaches that was release on Friday afternoon. Along with his ECC Defensive Player of the Year honors, Ulmer was named to the First Team All-East Coast Conference Squad along with classmate, forward Markus Naglestad (Kristiansand, Norway). Last season, Clayton earned Second Team All-ECC accolades, and Naglestad is now a two-time, First Team All-Conference selection.
Two Purple Knights also were selected to the 2011 Second Team All-ECC Men's Soccer team as midfielder Jonathan Aristizabal (Jr., Medellin, Colombia) and defender Lee Middleton (Jr., Newcastle, England) were honored by the coaches.
