Lee Middleton's Goal Lifts UB Men's Soccer To 1-0 Win At Molloy
Danny Hernandez Makes Three Saves To Record The Shutout
Rockville Centre, N.Y.-Junior Lee Middleton (Newcastle, England) headed home the only goal of the match, this third tally of the season, off a throw-in from sophomore Clayton Ulmer (Hamden, Conn.) 6:03 into the second half to lift the University of Bridgeport men's soccer team to a tough 1-0 road East Coast Conference victory over the Molloy College Lions. With the win, UB is now 6-5-0 overall and 2-2-0 in conference play. Molloy's hard-luck 2011 season continues as the Lions fall to 0-11-1 overall and 0-3-1 in the ECC. Ten of the Lions' 11 losses this season have come by one goal.
Junior goalkeeper Danny Hernandez (Bay Shore, N.Y.) made three saves to record his third solo clean sheet of the season, and the fourth shutout as team by the Purple Knights so far in 2011.
The Bridgeport men's soccer team is back in action at home on Saturday evening, October 15th when they host Dowling College in an East Coast Conference tilt. Game time is set for 6:00 p.m.
