New Haven, Conn. – Southern Connecticut
State's Cedric Panzu scored 6:50 into the second
half to net the match's only goal and lift the host Owls to a 1-0
non-conference men's soccer win over the University of Bridgeport
Purple Knights on Wednesday night. With the win, SCSU is now
8-2-0 on the season. UB is now 5-5-0.
Junior goalkeeper Andrew Esposito made five saves
in the win for the Owls.
For Bridgeport, senior goalie Milos
Suljagic (Belgrade, Serbia) made four saves.
SCSU outshot UB, 15-10, on the night.
UB is next in action on Saturday, October 9th at NYIT for an
important East Coast Conference match. Game time is 12
noon.
