Purple Knights Fall At UMass Lowell, 1-0
Men's soccer drops second consecutive contest....will look to get back in win column at Bentley on Wednesday afternoon.

Lowell, Mass.-The University of Bridgeport men's soccer team suffered its second straight defeat on Saturday afternoon, as the Purple Knights lost a tough 1-0 non-conference road decision to the UMass Lowell River Hawks. Bridgeport is now 2-2-0 on the season, and UML picks ups its first win of 2010, as they are now 1-2-0.
After a scoreless first half, UMass Lowell's Mohammed Saeed would score the match's only goal when he tallied off an assist from Matheus Candido 5:24 into the second half.
UML outshot UB, 19 to 13, on the day, and River Hawks'
goalkeeper Chris Maierle made four saves to record
the shut out. Bridgeport senior goalie Milos
Suljagic (Belgrade, Serbia) made six saves to help
keep his team close in the contest.
The Purple Knights will conclude their three-game road trip on Wednesday afternoon at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts. Game time is 3:00 p.m. Bridgeport is next in action at home, next Saturday, Septemebr 18, when it hosts Queens (N.Y.) College in the East Coast Conference opener for both teams.
