Purple Knights Fall To Penmen In Season's First Road Contest
Manchester, N.H.-The Southern New Hampshire University Penmen scored three second half goals to break open a tight game on their way to 4-0 home win over the visiting University of Bridgeport Purple Knights in a non-conference men's soccer match played in Manchester, N. H. on Wednesday afternoon. With the victory, SNHU remains undefeated on the season at 3-0-0. The loss in UB's first of the season, as the Purple Knights are now 2-1-0.
With his team leading 1-0 at the half, Southern New Hampshire's Danny Hernandez scored his second goal of the contest just over six minutes into the second half to give the Penmen a 2-0 lead. SNHU would then add scores in the 77th and 87th minutes to make the final score, 4-0.
Bridgeport senior goalkeeper Milos Suljagic (Belgrade, Serbia) made nine saves as he faced 17 shots on the afternoon. The Penmen outshot the Purple Knights, 17-7 on the afternoon.
The UB men's soccer team is back in action at Saturday afternoon at Umass Lowell. Match time is set for 1:00 p.m.
