UB XC Teams Race Against Stiff Division 1 Competition At CCSU's Ted Owen Invitational
Alexandra Toth Turns In A Career Best Time By Over Half A Minute
New Britain, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's and men's cross teams returned to action on Saturday against some stiff Division 1 competition at the Ted Owen Invitational hosted by Central Connecticut State University in New Britain, and the UB women took 12th place and the men finished in 13th on the day
For the women, senior Alexandra Toth (Sandy Hook, Conn.) was the Purple Knights top finisher covering the course in a time of 22:24, which was an all-time personal best by almost half a minute. She was followed by freshman Kayshamel Sewell (Brooklyn, N.Y.) who made her UB debut with a time of 23:49.
Freshman Joshua Karyea (Nazareth, Pa.) was the top finisher for the Bridgeport men as he posted a time of 43:49.
Up next, the UB cross country teams will compete at the Bruce Kirsh Invitational hosted by Franklin Pierce University on October 15th.
