UB XC Teams In Action At James Earley Invitational Hosted By Westfield State

Westfield, Mass-The University of Bridgeport cross country teams took part in their third meet of the 2014 season on a rainy Saturday morning in Massachusetts at the James Earley Invitational hosted by Westfield State University.  The UB women finished 33rd out of 44 teams, and the Bridgeport men's squad took 36th place.

For the Bridgeport women, sophomore Kerry Mackinnon (Pt. Jefferson, N.Y.) was the Purple Knights' top finisher covering the 5K course in a time of 21:02.91 which was good for 94th scoring place out of 424 runners.

On the men's side, junior Alex Birech (Eldoret, Kenya) was the team's top finisher with a time of 31:24.57 over the 8K course which put him in 190th scoring place out of 398 runner.

The Bridgeport cross country teams are back in action next Saturday at the St. Joseph's (LI) College Invitational in Kings Park, N.Y.
