Central Islip, N.Y.-Two University of Bridgeport student-athletes freshman Tiffany Eberhart (Jackson, N.J.) from the women's cross country team and junior Agustin Prados (Madrid. Spain) have been recognized for their outstanding performances last week with weekly East Coast Conference awards for competitions that took place from September 30 through October 6, 2013. Eberhart has been selected as the ECC's Women's Cross Country Rookie of the Week, and Prados has been named East Coast Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Last Wednesday, Eberhart took first place overall at the three-team Post University Invitational which Bridgeport won last Wednesday with a time of 21:23 which was nearly a full minute ahead of the second place finisher from Post University who covered the course in a time of 22:18. Prados notched consecutive shutouts in a 1-0 road win at St. Thomas Aquinas and a 2-0 road victory at Molloy last week. Agustin has now recorded three straight cleans sheets for the Purple Knights. In the two wins, he recorded a total of nine saves, stopping four shots at STAC and five at Molloy. This is the second consecutive week that a UB men's soccer player has earned ECC Defensive Player of the Week accolades, as Lee Middleton won last week's award.
