Volleyball Sees Its 2022 Season Come To A Close In The CACC Championship Semifinals
Purple Knights Wrap Up The Season With a 14-19 Overall Record
Philadelphia, Pa.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team saw its 2022 season come to a close on Saturday afternoon in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament semifinals hosted by Holy Family University in Philadelphia, as the Purple Knights were sept by the tournament's overall top seed, the Rams of Thomas Jefferson University, 17-25, 24-26, 20-25. UB ends its 2022 campaign with a 14-19 overall record, and Jefferson moves onto to Sunday's CAC Final with a 23-6 record.
Freshman Marris Mullins (Circleville, Ohio) closed out her stellar first season in Purple Knights uniform with a team-high 12 kills with an impressive .524 hitting percentage.
Sophomore Paola Hernandez (Philadephia, Pa.) added nine kills for Bridgeport and Lucia Tomiello (Fr., Caltrano, Italy had eight kills.
Sophomore setter Jaden Drollinger (Queens Creek, Az.) had 37 assists on the afternoon, and freshman Isabella Carmona-Bailey (McKinney, Tex.) led the Bridgeport defense with eight digs.
As a team, Jefferson hit a red-hot .494 in the match, while UB hit .341 as a team.
