Volleyball Falls In Regular Season Finale To Regionally-Ranked Daemen, 3-0
Purple Knights Host Wilmington (Del.) On Monday Night In A CACC Championship Quarterfinal Match That Begins At 6 PM
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport fell in its 2022 regular season finale on Sunday afternoon at home to the number-three ranked team in the NCAA East Region of Division II women's volleyball, the Daemen College Wildcats in straight sets, 22-25, 18-25, 23-25. Bridgeport closes out its regular season at 13-18 overall, and Daemen ups its season mark to 18-5.
Freshman Marissa Mullins (Circleville, Ohio) and sophomore Paola Hernandez (Bayamon, P.R.) led the Purple Knights' offense with nine kills apiece. Mullins also hit .474 on the afternoon and chipped in five blocks. Hernandez also had nine digs in the match.
UB freshman Lucia Tomiello (Caltrano, Italy) also had a strong contest at the net slamming eight kills and contributing four blocks.
Sophomore setter Jaden Drollinger (Queens Creek, Ariz.) had 27 assists for Bridgeport on Sunday, and freshman libero Isabella Carmona-Bailey (McKinney, Tex.) led the UB backline with 18 digs on the day.
