Volleyball Moves To 11-6 In Conference Play With Road Sweep Of Alliance
Purple Knights Have Won Seven Of Their Last Nine Outings
Jersey City, N.J.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team picked up its seventh win in its last nine matches with a straight sets, 25-15, 25-20, 25-20, Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference road victory over host Alliance University on Thursday evening in New Jersey. The Purple Knights are now 12-17 overall and 11-6 in conference play. Alliance slips to 2-25 overall and remains winless in the CACC at 0-15.
Freshman Lucia Tomiello (Caltrano, Italy) led the UB offense with 14 kills, and she added a team-high four service aces.
Freshman Marissa Mullins (Circleville, Ohio) and sophomore Samantha Cilluffo (Ridge, N.Y.) added eight kills apiece for the winners on Thursday. Those eight kills are a career-high for Cilluffo. Mullins also had nine digs in the match.
Sophomore setter Jaden Drollinger (Queens Creek, Ariz.) finished the match with a double-double against Alliance with 32 assists and 10 digs.
Freshman libero Isabella Carmona-Bailey (McKinney, Tex.) led the Purple Knights' defense with 11 digs on Thursday.
Up next, the UB volleyball team closes out its 2022 CACC regular season schedule on Saturday in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with a 5:00 p.m. contest at Chestnut Hill College.
