UB Volleyball Downed In Four Sets By Post University
Purple Knights Back In Action On Thursday Night On The Road Versus Alliance University
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team won the first set on Tuesday night at home against the visiting Post University Eagles in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference match in Hubbell Gym, 25-20, and had two set points in the second set before falling 27-25, and after that it was all in favor of the visitors, as the Eagles defeated the Purple Knights, 25-19 and 25-14 in the final two sets to grab the four set win. With the loss, the Purple Knights are now 11-17 overall and 10-6 in conference play. Post is now 7-19 overall and 5-10 in the CACC.
It was a tough night on offense for Bridgeport, as UB had a total of 15 service errors to go along with 30 hitting miscues, as the Purple Knights hit .118 as a team in the four sets.
Freshman Marissa Mullins (Circleville, Ohio) had a team-high 19 kills for Bridgeport, and she was joined in double-digit kills by sophomore Paola Hernandez (Bayamon, P/R.) with 11.
Setter Jaden Drollinger (So., Queens Creek, Ariz.) had 42 assists on the night, and freshman libero Isabella Carmona-Bailey (McKinney, Tex.) had a team-high 15 digs.
Sophomore Emily Griffin (Oxford, Pa.) also reached double-digit digs with 12 on the evening.
Up next, the UB women's volleyball team travels to Alliance University for a CACC tilt on Thursday night. Game time is set for 7:00 p.m. in Jersey City, N.J.
