Bridgeport Volleyball Posts Fifth Win In Last Six Outings With Home Sweep Over Felician
Team Back In Action At Home On Saturday Afternoon Versus Wilmington (Del.) University
Bridgeport, Conn.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team picked up its fifth victory in its last six outings on Wednesday night with a straight sets, 25-23, 25-14, 15-18, Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference win over the visiting Felician University Golden Falcons. The Purple Knights are now 10-16 overall on the year and 9-5 in conference play. The Golden Falcons fall to 2-21 overall in 2022 and 2-11 in the CACC.
Freshman Marissa Mullins (Circleville, Ohio) led the Bridgeport offense with 12 kills, as she hit .550 on the night.
Sophomore Paola Hernandez (Bayamon, P.R.) finished the match with a double-double of 11 kills and a team-high 16 digs.
UB freshman Lucia Tomiello (Caltrano, Italy) had a fine night on offense for the winners with nine kills without an error on 14 swings to produce a .643 hitting percentage.
Sophomore setter Jaden Drollinger (Queens Creek, Az.) had a fantastic all-around match for the Purple Knights, as she finished the evening with 31 assists, eight service aces, eight digs and six kills plus one block.
On the night, UB finished with a total of 12 service aces as a team.
Up next, the UB volleyball team will continue its three-match homestand on Saturday afternoon when the Purple Knights will host a conference-crossover contest against the Wildcats of Wilmington (Del.) University. First serve is slated for 1:00 p.m. in Hubbell Gym.
