Volleyball's Marissa Mullins Named CACC Player And Rookie Of The Week
Averaged 4.19 Kills And 1.31 Blocks Per Set, Plus Finished With a .469 Hitting Percentage On The Week
New Haven, Conn.-University of Bridgeport freshman volleyball standout Marissa Mullins (Circleville, Ohio) has been selected as this week's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Women's Volleyball Player and Rookie of the Week for her outstanding play in matches that took place from October 10 through 16, 2022.
This week's honors are the first time Marissa has been named conference Player of the Week, and her third Rookie of the Week recognition so far in 2022.
Last week, she helped the Purple Knights go 3-1 on the week averaging 4.19 kills with an impressive .469 hitting percentage, plus she contributed 1.31 blocks per set in 16 total frames played in the seven-day span. Mullins also chipped in a total of 10 digs, five service aces and one assist in the four matches.
In all four matches, Mullins had at least double-digit kills including a career-high 21 hammers versus Caldwell last Tuesday evening in Hubbell Gym. In Saturday's UB victory at Goldey-Beacom, she notched posted a career-best nine total blocks.
Marissa and her teammates return to action at home this Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. when Bridgeport hosts Felician University in a CACC match.
