Bridgeport Tripped Up By Bloomfield In CACC North Division Volleyball Tussle
UB Returns To Hubbell Gym On Saturday To Face Georgian Court At 12 Noon
Bloomfield, N.J.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team went on the road on Wednesday night and battled Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division-leading Bloomfield College to a tight four-set loss in the Garden State, as the Purple Knights fell to the Bears, 22-25, 26-28, 25-17, 23-25. UB is now 5-15 overall and 4-5 in conference play. Bloomfield is undefeated in the CACC at 8-0, and the Bears move to 9-4 overall.
Sophomore Paola Hernandez (Bayamon, P.R.) led the UB offense with 19 kills on Wednesday night, and she was joined in double-digit kills by freshman Marissa Mullins (Circleville, Ohio), who finished with 17 on the night and hit a sparkling .414.
Freshman Lucia Tomiello (Caltrano, Italy) finished just shy of a double-double on the night with nine kills and 10 digs.
Sophomore setter Jaden Drollinger (Queens Creek, Az.) notched double-double number eight so far in 2022 with 37 assists and 13 digs.
Freshman Isabella Carmona-Bailey (McKinney, Texas) led the Bridgeport backline with total of 14 digs.
Up next, the UB women's volleyball squad returns home to face the Lions of Georgian Court University on Saturday at 12 noon in Hubbell Gym.
