UB Volleyball Falls In Straight Sets At Bentley
Paola Hernandez Leads The Purple Knights With 12 Kills On The Night
Waltham, Mass.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team fell in straight sets on the road to one of the top teams in the East Region this season on Monday night, as the host Bentley University Falcons defeated the Purple Knights, 25-22, 25-19, 25-13, in a non-conference contest. UB is now 5-14 overall so far in 2022, and the Falcons up their overall record to 15-4.
Sophomore Paola Hernandez (Bayamon, P.R.) led the Bridgeport offense with 12 kills on Monday, as she hit. 387. Freshman Marissa Mullins (Circleville, Ohio) also reached double-digit kills in the match with 11, and she finished with a .350 hitting percentage.
Sophomore setter Jaden Drollinger (Queens Creek, Az.) had 25 assists on the night, and freshman Isabella Carmona-Bailey (McKinney, Tex.) led the Purple Knights on defense with 11 digs in the three sets.
Up next, the UB volleyball team returns to Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play with a match at Bloomfield College on Wednesday evening to wrap up their current three-match road trip. First serve in the Garden State is set for 7:00 p.m.
