Volleyball Posts A Four-Set Road Win Over Felician To Even CACC Record At 2-2
Three Purple Knights Reach Double-Digit Kills On The Night Led By Paola Hernandez And Lucia Tomiello With 13 Each
East Rutherford, N.J.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team got back on the right side of the ledger on Wednesday night and evened its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference record at 2-2 with a four-set (25-20, 21-25, 25-15, 25-19) win over the host Golden Falcons of Felician University. With the victory, UB is now 3-11. Felician slips to 1-13 overall and 1-3 in the CACC.
Sophomore Paola Hernandez (Bayamon, P.R.) and freshman Lucia Tomiello (Caltrano, Italy) led the Purple Knights offense on Wednesday, as the each had 13 kills. Freshman Marissa Mullins (Circleville, Ohio) also reached double-digit kills for the winners with 12.
Hernandez had a solid all-around match against the Golden Falcons, as she also led the team with six service aces and added eight digs.
Sophomore setter Jaden Drollinger (Queens Creek, Az.) directed the Bridgeport offense with 38 assists in the win.
On defense on Wednesday night, junior Haley Andrews (Southington, Conn.) and freshman Isabella Carmona-Bailey (McKinney, Tex.) led the Purple Knights with nine digs apiece.
Up next, the UB volleyball team will look to begin a winning streak in Philadelphia, Pa. on Saturday afternoon at Holy Family University in a CACC cross-divisional matchup. First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
