Offense Continues To Struggle In Volleyball's Loss At Southern Connecticut State
Purple Knights Right Back In Action On Wednesday Night At Felician In Conference Action
New Haven, Conn.-It was another tough outing on offense for the University of Bridgeport volleyball team on Tuesday night, as the Purple Knights hit only .069 in a straight-sets, non-conference road loss to local rival Southern Connecticut State, 22-25, 21-25, 16-25. With the loss, UB is now 2-11 overall. SCSU ups its season mark to 10-6.
Freshman Marissa Mullins (Circleville, Ohio) led the Purple Knights in kills in the match with 11, plus she had three blocks on the nights (two solos).
Sophomore setter Jaden Drollinger (Queens Creek, Az.) had 20 assists for Bridgeport, and classmate Paola Hernandez (Bayamon, P.R.) amassed a team-high 17 digs.
Freshman Isabella Carmona-Bailey (McKinney, Tex.) also reached double-digit digs with 11, as did Lucia Tomiello (Fr., Caltrano, Italy) with 10.
The UB volleyball team is right back in action on the road tomorrow night, as the Purple Knights will look to even their Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference record at 2-2, when they travel to East Rutherford, New Jersey to face the Golden Falcons of Felician University. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening.
