Amanda Hennemann Earns First Team NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Academic All-District Honors For The Second Time In Her Career
Purple Knights' Standout Recently Surpassed The 1,00 Career Dig Mark For Her Career
Bridgeport, Conn.-For the second time in her career, University of Bridgeport women's volleyball standout, graduate student Amanda Hennemann (Nova Petropolis, Brazil) has earned First Team NCAA Division II Academic All-District honors selected by CoSIDA (the College Sports Information Directors of America).
The 2021 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes volleyball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Honorees selected First Team Academic All-District® advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-December. To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution.
Amanda also earned Academic All-District honors in 2019.
Playing primarily the libero position this season, Hennemann leads the Purple Knights with 319 digs so far in 2021, and for her career, she has amassed 1,038 digs.
A biology major as an undergraduate and studying biomedical engineering in graduate school, Amanda has posted grade point averages of 3.97 and 3.96 respectively.
The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team is back in action in the semifinals of the 2021 East Coast Conference Championship Tournament hosted by Daemen College tomorrow night, when the Purple Knights take on Mercy College.
