Volleyball Posts Third Straight Win And Opens ECC Play With 3-0 Win At Roberts Wesleyan
Purple Knights Defeat Redhawks, 25-22, 25-10, 25-22
Rochester, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team picked up its third straight win on Saturday, as the Purple Knights opened East Coast Conference play with a 3-0 (25-22, 25-10, 25-22) road victory in Western New York versus the host Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan College. With the victory, the Purple Knights are now 6-3 overall and 1-0 in the ECC. Roberts Wesleyans remains winless at 0-11 so in 2021, and RWC is 0-1 in conference play.
Freshman Paola Hernandez (Bayamon, P.R.) led the Purple Knights' offense with eight kills, as she had a .429 hitting percentage on the day (8 k-2-e-14 ta).
Senior Amanda Keller (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) chipped in seven kills for the winner, as UB hit .267 as team in the win. Keller also led Bridgeport with three block assists.
Freshman setter Jaden Drollinger (Queens Creek, Ariz.) picked up another double-double on Saturday with 27 assists and a team-high 11 digs.
Up next, the Bridgeport women's volleyball team will look to run its winning streak to four and get a little revenge against local rival, the University of New Haven, on Tuesday night at UNH, as the Chargers defeated the Purple Knights in five sets earlier this season at the Post University Invitational. First serve in West Haven is set for 7:00 p.m.
