Volleyball Moves To 2-0 In Conference Play And 13-2 Overall With 3-0 Win At Queens (N.Y.) College
UB Faces Molloy On Wednesday Night In Key Early Season ECC Clash
Flushing, N.Y.-The University of Bridgeport women's volleyball team moved to 13-2 overall and 2-0 in East Coast Conference play on Saturday with a straight sets, 25-15, 25-19, 25-19, road win over the host Queens (N.Y.) College Knights in New York City. QC slips to 1-8 overall and 0-1 in the ECC.
Senior Amanda Hennemann (Nova Petropolis, Brazil) led the Bridgeport offense with 11 kills in the win, and classmate Morgan Knight (Highlands Ranch, Colo.) added eight for the Purple Knights. Hennemann also contributed a team-best four service aces on the day.
Sophomore setter Carly Killorin (Centennial, Colo.) directed the UB offense to the tune of 31 on Saturday, and junior Klein Johnson (San Antonio, Texas) led the Purple Knights' defense with 12 digs.
As a team, Bridgeport hit .293 on the afternoon, and posted 12 service aces.
Up next, the UB volleyball team heads to Long Island for a key early season conference clash at Molloy College on Wednesday evening. First serve is slated in Rockville Centre, N.Y. at 7:00 p.m.
